Cultural Heritage

Tibet's culture is one of the most distinctive on earth, shaped by centuries of Vajrayana Buddhist tradition. Ancient monasteries, colourful prayer flags, butter-lamp ceremonies, and the warm hospitality of the Tibetan people create an unforgettable spiritual atmosphere. The unique Tibetan language, art, and cuisine reflect a civilisation that has thrived at the top of the world for millennia.

Best Time to Visit

May to June and September to October offer the best conditions for trekking and sightseeing, with mild temperatures and clear skies. July and August bring the monsoon to eastern Tibet but the western plateau remains relatively dry. Winter (November to February) is bitterly cold but rewards visitors with uncrowded sites and crisp mountain views.
