Annapurna Circuit Trek Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our trekking representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest and recover from your international journey. Later, you will attend a detailed trek briefing where guides explain the trekking route, safety procedures, and altitude precautions. Your permits and trekking documents will be checked and finalized. You may also explore Kathmandu’s cultural landmarks, temples, and lively markets in preparation for the adventure.
Day 2: Kathmandu to Besisahar (Drive)
You will begin the journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. The drive passes through beautiful countryside, terraced farmlands, rivers, and traditional villages. You will experience changing landscapes from urban areas to peaceful rural mountain regions. Along the way, you may stop at local towns for meals and rest. Upon reaching Besisahar, you will stay overnight in a local lodge and prepare for trekking.
Day 3: Besisahar to Jagat
Your trekking journey officially begins as you follow forested trails and river valleys. The route passes waterfalls, suspension bridges, and charming rural settlements. You will walk through subtropical forests and terraced farmlands cultivated by local communities. Jagat is a beautiful traditional village inhabited mainly by Gurung and Magar communities. You will stay overnight in a tea house and enjoy your first experience of mountain trekking.
Day 4: Jagat to Dharapani
You will continue trekking along scenic trails surrounded by pine forests and terraced farmland. The trail passes through several traditional villages and offers views of surrounding hills and mountains. As you ascend gradually, the landscape begins to change into alpine terrain. Dharapani is an important junction connecting Annapurna Circuit and Manaslu region trails. You will stay overnight in a tea house with beautiful mountain surroundings.
Day 5: Dharapani to Chame
The trek continues through dense forests of pine, fir, and rhododendron. You will cross suspension bridges and follow the Marsyangdi River valley. As you gain altitude, you will begin to see closer views of Annapurna and Lamjung Himal. Chame is the administrative center of Manang district and offers stunning mountain scenery. You will stay overnight in a tea house and enjoy views of snow-covered peaks.
Day 6: Chame to Pisang
Today’s trek takes you through beautiful alpine landscapes and narrow valleys. You will pass dramatic rock formations and scenic forest trails. The trail offers magnificent views of Annapurna II and surrounding peaks. Pisang is a picturesque village with strong Tibetan cultural influence. You will stay overnight in Pisang and enjoy the peaceful mountain environment.
Day 7: Pisang to Manang
You will ascend gradually toward Manang through alpine terrain and traditional villages. The trail offers incredible panoramic views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. As altitude increases, the vegetation becomes sparse and terrain more rugged. Manang is a large Tibetan-influenced village rich in culture and mountain scenery. You will stay overnight and begin acclimatizing to higher altitude.
Day 8: Acclimatization Day in Manang
This day is reserved for acclimatization to help your body adjust to the high altitude. You may take a short hike to nearby viewpoints or visit Gangapurna Lake for stunning scenery. These hikes improve acclimatization and reduce the risk of altitude sickness. You may also explore monasteries, local villages, and cultural sites. Overnight stay will be in Manang.
Day 9: Manang to Yak Kharka
You will trek through high alpine terrain with spectacular mountain views. The trail passes yak grazing areas and remote landscapes. As altitude increases, the air becomes thinner and trekking requires a slower pace. The scenery becomes more dramatic with snow-covered peaks and open valleys. You will stay overnight in Yak Kharka.
Day 10: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
You will continue trekking toward Thorong Phedi, the base for crossing Thorong La Pass. The trail ascends gradually through rocky and alpine terrain. The environment becomes more rugged and challenging. Thorong Phedi is a small settlement surrounded by towering mountains. You will stay overnight and prepare for the high pass crossing.
Day 11: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass
You will begin early in the morning to cross Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek at 5,416 meters. The climb is challenging but offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas. After reaching the pass, you will descend toward Muktinath. Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. You will stay overnight and explore the temple area.
Day 12: Muktinath to Jomsom
You will descend through the beautiful Kali Gandaki Valley, known for its dramatic landscapes. The trail offers spectacular views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri peaks. The terrain becomes drier and resembles Tibetan plateau landscapes. Jomsom is a popular trekking town with modern facilities. You will stay overnight in Jomsom.
Day 13: Jomsom to Pokhara (Flight)
You will take a scenic mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. During the flight, you will enjoy aerial views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel near the beautiful Phewa Lake. You can relax by the lakeside, enjoy cafes, and celebrate your successful trek. Overnight stay will be in Pokhara.
Day 14: Pokhara to Kathmandu (Drive)
You will drive back to Kathmandu through scenic countryside, rivers, and traditional villages. The journey offers beautiful views of hills and rural Nepalese life. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel and relax. You may explore markets, restaurants, or cultural landmarks. Overnight stay will be in Kathmandu.
Day 15: Final Departure
After breakfast, you will prepare for your international departure. Our team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport. You will say goodbye to your trekking team and Nepal. This concludes your Annapurna Circuit Trek. You will leave Nepal with unforgettable Himalayan memories and cultural experiences.
