Trek Overview
The Gokyo Lakes Trek is a high-altitude adventure through the tranquil Gokyo Valley in Sagarmatha National Park. Known as the ultimate alternative to the traditional Everest Base Camp (EBC) route, this trek leads you to the world’s highest freshwater lake system—the stunning turquoise Gokyo Lakes.
Starting with an adventurous flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trek progresses along the Dudh Koshi River before branching off the crowded EBC trail. Highlights include crossing the Ngozumpa Glacier (Nepal’s largest glacier) and reaching the peak of Gokyo Ri (5,357m) for panoramic views of four 8,000-meter giants: Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu.
